Shannon Gamerl

Shannon fled sunny Florida to start a tattoo career in the New Jersey/Philadelphia area and has been here ever since. She and Reece worked together for a short time then reunited years later to open Pale Horse Tattoo.
From tattoos to drawings on paper and cardboard sculpture, Shannon’s skill in illustration is always on display. Her work blends figural and animal subjects with other fanciful elements and psychedelic color schemes.
Shannon also enjoys taking her son on adventures, punk rock, and all forms of arts and crafts.
Reece Farness
After hanging around a local tattoo shop with a friend who worked there, Reece began tattooing in Carbondale, Illinois. He then bounced around the midwest and east coast before landing in Philadelphia around 2019.
After a number of years in the area, he and Shannon decided to launch Pale Horse Tattoo. Initially a small, two person operation it has grown bit over the years.
Having a background in graphic design and other art, Reece enjoys being flexible and tackling a variety of tattoo projects in different styles.
Reece also enjoys video games, spicy food, and cats.
Ruben Carrero
After serving in the United States Marines, Ruben pursued a career in tattooing. Having established himself as a fixture in the Philadelphia tattoo scene, he took a position at a shop in south Jersey, but returns to the city to work with us on weekends.
You’ll see a lot of large scale black and grey tattoos in Rube’s portfolio, but he also does excellent full color pieces. From realism to decorative linework, Rube is your man.
Rube also enjoys time with his family, nice cologne, and partying on yachts in Florida.
Joe Moreira
Joe initially encountered tattoos in college, when he witnessed a friend doing his own and was intrigued by the process. He then pursued an apprenticeship, worked for a number of years and joined Pale Horse Tattoo in 2025.
Joe excels in detailed tattooing at any size, carefully chosen color palettes or subtle tones of black and grey.
His interest in detailed illustration, gothic themes, and encyclopedic knowledge of insects combine into a blend that give his tattoos a unique twist.
Joe also enjoys costume designing, working out, and playing with his pet scorpions.
Greg Campion
Greg became interested in tattooing after seeing his uncle’s collection of 1990’s traditional tattoos. After desk managing for multiple shops in the Philly area, Greg completed an apprenticeship and joined Pale Horse in 2025.
With a deep knowledge of American Traditional designs, Greg keeps the classics alive and creates his own versions of timeless tattoo themes.
Greg also enjoys saucy nugs, the New York Jets, and his cat Bonzi.
