The Pale Horse Story
Pale Horse Tattoo is a tattoo studio in Philadelphia’s Kensington/Norris Square neighborhood, founded in 2023 by artists Shannon Gamerl and Reece Farness. Built from the ground up by working tattooers, Pale Horse was created to bring a fresh yet timeless approach to tattooing in Philly.
Our name, Pale Horse, represents transformation and resilience — the idea that tattoos carry stories, memories, and identity forward. From the start, our mission has been clear: to create tattoos that last, that carry meaning, and that stand out both artistically and technically.
